The bad news is that the ScanPST.exe program doesn't work for severely corrupted files. You'll need to acquire a recovery tool designed for bigger jobs. Search "PST Repair Tool" and you'll find many reputable programs who know how to fix this Outlook issue.
You can start Outlook in safe mode, disable your add-ins, Fix Outlook Site and then try to open Outlook normally. If you can't open Outlook, or Outlook disappears or crashes, one of your add-ins may be to blame or you may need to update Outlook. Not something you want to take on lightly, but sometimes you have to. Similar to our earlier suggestion of repairing Office (see #3 Repair Your Microsoft Office above), perform the same steps except choose to Uninstall. In the meantime, Fix Outlook Site please use the workarounds suggested for each issue. To edit a shared calendar, go online to your own Outlook.com calendar, open Calendar for Windows 10, or use a mobile device. Rollout of the fix to all users will take few weeks, so, some users may see the fix applied by the end of September. If you can open the original Outlook Data File, you might be able to recover additional items. The Inbox Repair tool creates a backup file with the same name as the original, but with a .bak extension, and saves it in the Fix Outlook Site same folder. There may be items in the backup file that you might be able to recover that the Inbox Repair tool couldn't. If you're using an Exchange email account, you can delete the offline Outlook Data File (.ost) and Outlook will recreate the offline Outlook Data File (.ost) the next time you open Outlook.
We're investigating the issue and will update this page when a fix is available. If you're using Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016, uninstall and re-install iCloud to resolve this issue. This issue affects all Outlook versions on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10. A lot of times, a user will click on something by accident and change their view and be unsure of how to get it back. If anyone finds a more permanent solution, I would appreciate it. It seems like something went wrong on Microsoft update and they might recall it or fix it, so we might need to wait untill that.
